chickens

I'm pretty sure I just got up a few minutes ago and I have to go to bed now so I can get up again. Today, sitting in seminar, I suddenly remembered the dream I had last night. It was pouring rain and I was in the barn watching the water levels rise up, up, up and over the heads of my chickens. I pulled a sopping, lifeless chicken out of the water and did some quick CPR, and to my great joy the chicken returned to life. Most likely no one notices when someone in the audience starts laughing for no apparent reason as long as no actual noise is made, but if they did, they will certainly never know why I was laughing. The nucleosome gels certainly weren't that funny.

I'm stinking tired.

TIRM

Time for some total internal reflection microscopy. (Another adventure in taking a tiny piece of a phone conversation and making a BIG DEAL out of it)

What does this mean?
Barack Obama

What does this mean?
II Corinthians 6:14-18

What does this mean?
Revelation 14:3-5

I had to look in "The Message" because KJV doesn't use the word "compromise," and that happens to be the topic I'm interested in this... well, this life really. Every aspect of my life is in some state of compromise, and I need to know what part of that is good and what part of that is bad.

I keep looking for a "new word from God," but shoot, the old words seems to work pretty well for most situations. MAYBE that's why He said, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son" (Hebrews 1:1-2a)

Deep thoughts from the trout

Heaven
Brooke, Rupert (1887-1915)

Fish (fly-replete, in depth of June,
Dawdling away their wat'ry noon)
Ponder deep wisdom, dark or clear,
Each secret fishy hope or fear.
Fish say, they have their Stream and Pond;
But is there anything Beyond?
This life cannot be All, they swear,
For how unpleasant, if it were!
One may not doubt that, somehow, Good
Shall come of Water and of Mud;
And, sure, the reverent eye must see
A purpose in Liquidity.
We darkly know, by Faith we cry,
The future is not Wholly Dry.
Mud unto mud!--Death eddies near--
Not here the appointed End, not here!
But somewhere, beyond Space and Time,
Is wetter water, slimier slime!
And there (they trust) there swimmeth One
Who swam ere rivers were begun,
Immense, of fishy form and mind,
Squamous, omnipotent, and kind;
And under that Almighty Fin,
The littlest fish may enter in.
Oh! never fly conceals a hook,
Fish say, in the Eternal Brook,
But more than mundane weeds are there,
And mud, celestially fair;
Fat caterpillars drift around,
And Paradisal grubs are found;
Unfading moths, immortal flies,
And the worm that never dies.
And in that Heaven of all their wish,
There shall be no more land, say fish.

Eowyn

Eowyn

If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Eowyn, Woman of Rohan, niece of King Theoden and sister of Eomer.

In the movie, I am played by Miranda Otto.

Who would you be?
